After 32 rounds of counting in Madhubani assembly constituency, Rashtriya Lok Morcha’s (RLM) candidate Madhav Anand won the seat by securing 97,956 votes.
The assembly elections saw a fierce three-way contest between RJD’s Samir Kumar Mahaseth, RLM’s Madhav Anand and Jan Suraaj’s Anil Kumar Mishra. RJD’s candidate Samir Kumar Mahaseth received 77,404 votes while Jan Suraaj’s Anil Kumar Mishra garnered 8453 votes.
Polling has concluded and the fate of the candidates is now sealed in the electronic voting machines. The constituency recorded 68.54 per cent turnout, according to election officials.
